Mediation

We recognise that when communication breaks down, temperatures can rise. Things that are said may be difficult to unsay, emotions may become overwhelming and the ability to have a civil calm conversation about the children, property, elderly care and the family pet, may appear impossible.

Mediation is about having the safe space to listen to each other with the assistance of a trained mediator. Mediators have specialised training – they are unbiased, neutral and non-judgemental. They will encourage you to get back on track and look to the future, whilst helping all parties resolve issues and conflict.

Different types of Mediation

Workplace mediation is a process that can be used to attempt to resolve workplace conflict with the help of a mediator. We cover all issues that may arise including race, gender, health, disability, and age discrimination

Neighbour disputes can arise for several reasons – from volume of noise to issues around who is responsible for the broken fence. We can offer mediation to assist with any conflict that may arise.

We have specialised child focused mediators who work with families. Our mediators allow families to meet the needs of the child/children with regards everything from emotional, mental wellbeing, religion and education whilst continuing to promote their social and fun needs. We can help look carefully at living arrangement so that children have the safe space to voice their thoughts and most importantly – be listened to.

Intergenerational mediation helps to resolves disputes between parents and children, siblings, cousins, grandparents etc.

We understand that in some families assumptions, cultural and traditional values can lead to misunderstandings. For example, it may be assumed that one person will look after an elderly relative. However, circumstances and needs may change, and one person may no longer be able to take on the care of another. Mediation will allow you to discus and plan your thoughts, and feelings, and then assist you in putting alternative care provision in to place.
